The Sunday Sketch #15

Good to be back in New York, with my own bed and toilet.  Definitely the top two inanimate objects that I miss most when I leave on vacation.  Probably top two of anything, but don’t tell that to my family and friends.  And the good news is, the comic survived my shortened update schedule without much worse for wear.  Back with the regular schedule starting… well, today.
First thing on the list, Captcha.  Yea, I hate it too and today’s strip reflects my previous frustrations with Captcha.  So for all the regulars and those who drop a comment from time to time, I feel your pain.  But as much as I hate Captcha, I hate the advertisements spamming my comments section even more.  While I was away, the spammers came out to play.  Those jerk offs.  Right before I installed the captcha word press plugin, they were putting up around 80 spam comments per hour.   From furniture to penis enlargement to Istanbul Escorts.  Istanbul Escorts, really?  But I think I found a fairly simple to read captcha plugin and its been deterring the spammers for the most part.  So I’m sorry I had to set it up, but it was necessary evil.  And for anyone who might have coincidentally spoken about Istanbul escorts and had their comment removed  as I was cleaning house, I’m sorry for that as well.
Also installed a plugin that would allow people who comment to get a notification of my response to their comment via email.  Just type your email and check off that little box indicating you want to be notified of my response.  Not sure if anyone really wants to be notified of my response, but my friend, Fanny, suggested it and I thought it was a good idea.  Probably one of my more obscure shout outs, buried in text and in this lengthy Sunday blog which I’m guessing three quarters of my readers don’t read.  Sorry Fanny.  There ya go, you get another mention Fanny.  And another one … Ok, I could do that all day.  Add her name to the end of every sentence like I was talking to her, but it has probably gotten really annoying to read already, so I’ll stop.
Well, I think that’s pretty much it for the week.  Mostly changes with the comments section, regular update schedule back in effect.  One more thing, if you guys and gals have a bit of time, please vote for my strip at Topwebcomics.  There’s a tiny voting icon at the bottom of the strip that will lead you to their voting page.  Voting is daily, so if you have a ten second time slot  free every day, please help me out by using it to vote for my strip.  I’m trying to get more free publicity by climbing the ranks.  Thanks guys and gals.  Well, took my vacation, I’m refreshed, recharged, and ready to write again.  Thanks for reading everyone.
